Nappykins Again

I haven't made this public knowledge, but I am not inspired by beautiful things, or by angelic voices whispering into my ear, but darker things. Hatred. Jealousy. They inspire me and motivate me to better myself. When I hear of gainfully employed artists who are happy and fulfilled thanks to their job, the darkness takes over me...

So, this is what I drew at Chipotle when I had dinner Thursday :D

And today, after being dismissed early from work, I sat down and decided to draw my D&D demon, Slaavo, having assimilated a summoned succubus. I'm hoping to multiclass my warlock so I can get a goddamn summon. (EDIT: I posted the original napkin line art up on Y! Gallery and got reported for it {I was completely oblivious to their policy on napkin related artwork} so now it's all coloured and not napkiny)

Dungeons and Dragons

It was strange for me. I played a multitude of RPGs and MMORPGs before I even played the original tabletop version of D&D. Thanks to the generosity of my brothers in arms from Drawn Blanks and their friends, I got my first chance to play it, and I can't begin to describe how much fun I have.

My character is a tiefling warlock, who is part Dragon Age blood mage, part Tim Gunn, and with a light dash of Buffalo Bill. Having played other games as a pet class, I was a little shocked that I did not have a demon at my command, until I was informed that I could have an arcane familiar last evening...

Immediately, my mind set to work on a tiny bound demon to coincide with my character's history. I even had my character stitch up a little outfit for the bloody mass that he vomited up. So, I present to you, Coccytus Rex's demon familiar, Slaavo the Jabbering Clot.

Nappykins

Hello all,

I had a busy weekend, mostly being away from my work. My roommates dragged me off to Disney World Sunday. I wanted to bring some art supplies with me, but I didn't want to lug around a 20lb bag with me for ten hours. So, I just brought a pen.

As I went around Disney, I kept count of the number of hot "guest" dudes I'd bang (I counted 99.) One boy in particular caught my attention. He was a blonde, slender, effeminate twinky thing (which I get boners for) and he waited in line for the Haunted Mansion with my roommates and I. I wanted to approach him, but I let my insecurities hold me back, and I didn't see him again... until we left Epcot, and I saw him and his hag walking back to their car. Who knows, Maybe I'll see him again sometime.

Aside from the hot dudes, there some hot dude couples, with kids. And that made me all the more depressed about being single and without a career. To portray my sorrow, I doodled on a napkin at dinner.

And this chap here was a big, hunky bodybuilder who sat in front of me at Chipotle during lunch. I noticed his neck and back muscles and just HAD to draw them.

I don't know what to type in here for this entry, so I'm just typing this. ENJOY! 8D

Castles in the Air

More practice with the tablet and all. I've been observing the use of light in foregrounds and backgrounds. I think this doesn't look like total crap. How about you?

Maelstrom

For the latest episode of Flame On! I was asked to draw a male variation of Storm. So here's a male Storm, or Maelstrom.

All the Cool Kids Are Doing It

He came to me in my head earlier today. I think he was the result of the oodles of fantasy illustrations I have seen by the pros, and my purchase of a Heavy Metal magazine (needs more naked dudes. HOT naked dudes.)

Figure Drawing 18 Septrembre.

I was delighted to learn that, this past Sunday, the cycle of ladies had been broken. I finally had a male model for my figure drawing class (yes there is nudity down below, and yes I know my blog is not flagged as NSFW.)

What started out as my usual fair of "I don't want to draw the model's head and/or other features," turned into a gentlemen's wager. My comic book artist brothers in arms, Brian Wolf and Travis Earls, wanted to out creep me on my drawings. I wish I had access to their drawings to show you all what they did, but I think we were all equally matched.

And finally, some beefcake...

I've been trying to acclimate myself more and more to digital painting, and I have noticed a significant difference in how I painted a year ago compared to how I paint now.

Below, I have a WIP painting of EPIC PLATFORM HERO11!!1! and the design doodles of his nemesis, Plutohades, the God of the Status Quo.

Some Conceptual Illustrations

To help myself out in realizing my ambition, I've tried to dedicate a few days to drawing nothing but objects, like doors and containers, and my mind has wandered off to other things. I took it upon myself to do Dante's Inferno as a conceptual study piece, backdrops, characters and objects alike, but so far, I only have Virgil drawn out.

Yeeeeeeeeeah...

I really like the big ogre guy drawing her.

Sketch Dump 2

One thing I have noticed when I am at these figure drawing sessions, when I lose focus, or can't seem to get it, my mind tends to wander off into different directions, drawing things I think I am seeing...

Hello friends,

First off, my sincerest apologies for not updating this in so long. Much has happened to me in the course of a few months, the most prevalent being me having sever the relationship I had with my boyfriend of seven years. Things got pretty ugly pretty quickly.

Since then, I have resumed pursuing my ambition, to land an illustration job in a game development company somewhere.

To better myself, I have been attending life drawing classes, and I think the results are exponentially increasing in quality.

Digital Sketching

Hello loyal followers,

Sorry I haven't been around like that deadbeat father figure you can relate me to. I've been feeling the brunt of being "married to my work." With so much going on, as I am slowly making the transition to digital art, I've been doing some little quick sketches to adjust to it.

More Sexy Dudes

Hey,

Sorry for not posting in... months. Lots of personal stuff going on that impaired my creative flow.

Here are some hot, sexy dudes.

Speed Painting

As I sat here at my desk, twiddling my thumbs, I decided to work on two things that I know need improvement: painting and backgrounds.

This is where I got the image I referenced Poland for All

I Was Bored Today...

I had no comic book work to do, so I said to myself "I want to draw beefcake." So, I decided to draw the character I made when I played DC Universe Online. I call him "Corpsecaller."

Happy Valentine's Day

Hello, gentle readers and lurkers.

I have little words to express for tomorrow. The words that I do have, however, mark the seventh year I have been together with my guy. Seven long years, with two of them spent together in the same bed, under the same roof. It's been rough for the both of us, but he's my world, my everything, and I don't know what I'd be without him today.

Anyhow!

I have treats for you all. Most of them are related to my attempts at colouring.

Here's Cupid and one of my Halloween boys, JD. When I made my version of Cupid almost... ten years ago, (wow!) I intended him to be on the punk side. Here, I have him more of the Avril Lavinge "sk8terboi" (God, strike me down for having uttered her name and employed even a semblance of leet speech.) I got really lazy with this, if you can't tell.

Next, I attempted to turn Superman, the Man of Steel, into the Man of Bronze, by playing with his design as more of a barbarian.

And my attempt at colouring him. I used one of Frank Frazetta's paintings as a colour base.

I hope you all have a wonderful day. If not for romance, then for the glorification of the human form and the many wonders it inspires.

Kyle Rayner and the Draenai

I've been having quite an inspiration week, artistically speaking, and a fun weekend to top it all off (I know it's going to be a hellish week coming up to counter this much enthusiasm and joy.) While at A Comic Shop today, I drew Kyle Rayner (or however you spell his name. I just think he's the hunkiest of the Green Lantern Corp). My friends Eric and Oral had their birthdays celebrated at the shop much later in the evening, where I met a young lady, who also drew, and we commenced to draw together. She had some WoW fanart, so I decided to bond with her through that vein of consciousness.

Of Comics and the Like

Over the weekend, I had the pleasure of meeting comic book illustrator Mike Perkins. He taught a seminar on illustration, hosted at A Comic Shop. Unfortunately, I opted out of it because I was too stingy to pay for the seminar ($10 is a lot to me.) Afterward, when the masses died down, I met up with my comic artist friends there, chatted with them, and had Mr. Perkins browse through my sketchbook. He liked my character designs, but his lack of any sort of criticism made me uneasy for the rest of the day.

As for today, to take a break from my own illustration projects, I gave myself a few breaks. In those times, I sat down and drew some comic book heroes I thought to be especially hot. In particular, my friend Zhu was looking for someone to draw Superboy. I thought Superboy was pretty hot, and would look even hotter with a fauxhawk. Add Thor to the mix, and you have my day today.

(Zhu, I hope it's okay that I show Superboy here...)

Theme for the Time Being: Horror

I've been on this "horror" streak lately. The reason why may be due in part with the script I wrote for a friend who makes horror movies. Maybe. I don't know. Anyhow!

The first two pics are of Colskar as a slasher maniac. I may do him up in some sort of gay horror movie comic strip. It might be fun.

The image below is from a Drink and Draw session I attended in Orlando, hosted by A Comic Shop. The theme for the first drawing we all did was "Zombies" and "Spring Break" so naturally I did a bunch of hunky zombie boys on the beach. Dinosaur Prince suggested I use this picture as a statement on my feelings towards male beauty, that no matter how grotesque or how monstrous, I manage to make the dudes I draw attractive.
